Police visit Reception!

The Reception children were delighted to have two friendly local police officers visit at school. The officers talked to the children about what the police do to help in the local area. The children also learnt that they shouldn’t talk to strangers and they should not be afraid of policemen! The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and learnt so much!

Will you take on an Extreme Reading Challenge?

Challenge yourself to read your favourite book in the most unusual place – the highest, or the lowest or somewhere
really out of the ordinary. What is the strangest or most unusual place you can be photographed reading?! Perhaps you can take up reading on a bike, at the dentists or even upside down!
Be inventive! But please ask an adult for help and do stay safe!

Young Carers Awareness Assembly

Pupils from Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 attended assemblies based on Young Carers. They learned the importance of caring for their family members and discussed ways to deal with it. Enfield Carers Centre provides support such as mentoring, family support and homework club. The assemblies were very informative, many pupils learned the essence of how it is to be a young carer.

Tate Gallery

Lead by Miss Loizou, De Bohun Primary school has been lucky enough to participate in a national project ‘Steve McQueen Year 3’. Turner prize-winning artist and Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen unveils his epic portrait of London’s Year 3 pupils. 4KL and 4SZ had their photos taken last year and will be visiting their exhibition, in the Tate Britain, in January.  The exhibition is now being advertised around London and will begin on the 12th November 2019. Keep your eyes open for De Bohun Primary School on London trains and billboards.

Year 5 Public Speaking Event

On Friday 1st November 2019, Isaac & Ethan of 5ZA and Hanasa & Awezha of 5MP attended a training day for the borough’s primary school Public Speaking Competition held at Bowes Primary School. They practised their Public speaking skills, by creating a speech and presented their speech to the audience. They were resourceful and resilient to stand in front of other pupils and staff members of the Borough of Enfield. Our team is now busy preparing for the semi-finals on 26th November!
