A group of instrumental players from De Bohun’s years 4, 5 and 6 attended a wonderful concert for schools at Wigmore Hall last week entitled ‘Beethoven and the Science of Sound’. The children listened to a selection of string quartet pieces, including music by Beethoven (still catching audiences out even 200 years after his death!!), performed by The Heath Quartet and also found out more about stringed instruments, metronomes and the way Beethoven continued to compose long after he became deaf.Read More

De Bohun’s Choir performs at Southgate School Concert -Thursday 5th December
Our Junior Choir gave lovely performances of ‘The Huron Carol’ and John Rutter’s ‘Star Carol’ as part of Southgate School’s Winter Concert last week. Back on the programme by invitation, our singers also joined with a massed choir of all year groups to take part in the final item ‘Happy Xmas’.
The overall concert was amazing, such a wonderful and inspiring event for our young musicians to be part of. It was an evening full of varied and high quality music making, both instrumental and vocal, with over 200 performers taking part!
Finally, a big thank you to parents of children in junior choir for bringing along our singers on the night and for supporting the concert – we hope you enjoyed it!
Year 3 & 4 Christmas Concert
The Year 3 and 4 concert was a delightful celebration of Christmas Music. The combined voices of the two year groups performed We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Tomorrow and other songs which put everyone in the festive mood.
Each of the Year 3 and 4 classes also performed a Christmas themed song. They all sang beautifully, with big smiles and obvious huge enjoyment. The concert was a really lovely festive event.Read More
VEX IQ November Competition 2019
Some pupils from our robotics team attended a VEX robotics competition on Saturday 30th November at Queen Elizabeth’s School. We are getting better with in house competitions, one of our teams, placed 18th out of 28 Secondary School teams, which is a big achievement! The children certainly used their resilience and resourcefulness skills especially as they were up against many established secondary school teams. They worked as a group effectively and adapted to the environment efficiently. Most of all they had lots of fun!Read More
